Customising is the ability to change the look of something. Customising is helpful as you can make changes to certian programs to help find and use certain tools.
Why Customise?
You should customise your computer because it is easier to access the programs you want. You can also change the desktop picture to whatever image you want.
The customisations I made in Windows was to minimise the
ribbon, I did this because it gives the user more room in the page to work. I
also changed the resolution of the screen, changing the resolution of the
screen to a higher setting makes the text sharper and more items can fit on the
screen, at a lower resolution the text will become less sharp and less items
can fit on the screen. I also changed the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) this is a feature
in Microsoft Word, which lets you use items like save and undo in a small
toolbar at the top left of the screen . You can also change the background and colour
of the text, on Microsoft Word you can use a tool to change the text colour. This
item has an A at the top of the button and a different colour below it. When
changing the background colour you use a button which has a paint bucket on it.
Narrator
The narrator tool is a built-in software tool to help the visually impaired read the text on the screen. This piece of software will read the text for the user and turn it into sound so they can hear what the text is on the screen. This comes built-in with the operating system and is found in the ease of access centre.

Magnifier
The magnifier is also another tool to help the visually
impaired this tool will make the text on the screen a lot larger, just like a magnifying
glass. This tool is good if the user cannot see very well; this also comes
built-in with the Microsoft operating system. This program is found in the ease
of access centre.
Ease Of Access
The ease of access centre is where all the help tools are
located like the magnifier and the narrator tool. You can access these settings
by searching ease of access centre in the all programs search bar. This
controls all the helpful software like the narrator tool which you can change
the voice of the character and how fast or slow the program will read it.
